I used to look at the world with despair
And wonder if anyone would ever care
About the problems that we all face
The injustice, the violence, the waste

I used to blame others for the mess
And think that they should do more, not less
To fix the issues that we have created
The damage, the pain, the hatred

I used to wait for someone to take the lead
And hope that they would have the courage and the speed
To make the changes that we need
The solutions, the actions, the deeds

But then I realized that I was wrong
And that I had the power all along
To be the change that I wish to see
The inspiration, the example, the key

I decided to stop complaining and start doing
To stop judging and start understanding
To stop fearing and start loving
To stop dreaming and…
